WARTELAND // drawing installation
Warteland is a place of waiting. It is a queue, bus stop, waiting room, week, month, year, lifetime. Waiting as a mystery of Human existence, referring to time passing and death. Waiting as a physical and psychological state, philosophical concept, metaphor or symbol. Being in-between, in emptiness, nervous, excited, thoughtful. I Observe Warteland. I examine this place, analyze it, a scientist with the word, dissecting line and paper as a tool of cognition; I compose conclusions. I draw, photocopy, cut, transfer, notate, compose letters that tangle, letters that escape, letters that morph. Non-letters. All creations are simultaneously born, reflecting on each other, becoming their own inaccurate copies. This study was conducted during the secound and third quarter of 2018 in Berlin, on the topic of ‘Waiting’ presented in the form of a drawing installation investigating the conducive feelings of confusion, repetition, reflection, focus and introspection. // Lena Czerniawska PROGRAM 5.10 // 20:00 Warteland / drawing installation / vernissage vernissage 6.10 // 20:00 Warteland / Michael Thieke & Emilio Gordoa Michael Thieke / clarinete Emilio Gordoa / vibrophone 13.10 // 20:00 Warteland / Dirar Kalash solo Dirar Kalash / oud 20.10 // 20:00 Warteland / Simon Rose, Philippe Lemoine and Lena Czerniawska Simon Rose / baritone saxophone Philippe Lemoine / tenor saxophone Lena Czerniawska / drawing 25.10 // 20:00 Warteland / discussion with Julia Siwek about waiting in art discussion with Julia Siwek about waiting in art 28.10 // 16:00 Warteland / finissage finissage Gallery / bauchhund salonlabor Schudomastr. 38 / 12055 Berlin Rixdorf |
